Feline females unite!
A new Girl Power! Japanese Animated Series replete with licensing is on the horizon for tweens and teens in 2005.
Mew Mew Power follows the adventures of five girls who possess the powers of endangered animals and must battle aliens who want to destroy mankind - when they're not busy with homework and boyfriends, that is.
It all starts when an ordinary high school girl becomes infused with the DNA of an almost extinct wildcat. Transformed into a crime-fighting cat, she must now find the rest of her crew as soon as possible so together they can save earth.
The show follows 4Kids' formula for taking the hottest properties from Japan and localizing them for kids around the world.
Mew Mew Power boasts a history of success in Japan as a comic book that inspired a highly rated television series. The Japanese merchandise program consisted of over 20 licensees creating over 200 different products. The series will premiere on 4Kids Entertainment's Fox Box.
Indie music artist Bree Sharp of “David Duchovny, why won’t you love me?” fame sings the title song. We predict a cult following.
Fans of the original shoujo manga/anime series Tokyo Mew Mew have put their noses up to the Americanization of Ichigo (now Zoe) and friends. The Mew Mew Alliance, for example, launched shortly after 4Kids acquired the property to ask fans to write to 4Kids, making clear a desire to see an uncut, bilingual release of Tokyo Mew Mew.
After viewing a pre-release last summer, fans weren’t as disappointed as they wanted to be. What did get to them, however, was the cultural shift from a consortium of five friends to a leader and her team.

Cant everyone just accept tokyo mew mew and mew mew power. they're both really good shows.
Just be cause Mew Mew power originated from tokyo mew mew but is not exactly the same as it doesn't make it a bad show. people need to have more open minds. and u know im right. this coming from a 12 year old with an IQ of 143

if any of these posters had any freakin sense (god i hate anime fans). they could just buy the original...which is not changed.
the whole point of a dub is that...A DUB; it does not change the original...nor does it have any effect.

I never saw tokyo mew mew and it is probably great but so is mew mew power at least it is some what the same.

in mexico , they do not called it mew mew power,they called tokyo mew mew and they do not cut out scene,names,and songs they just translate the show, FOR Example ichigo is translated to fresna(which mean strawberry in spainsh), it is a good thing that i dont live in america There are GRINGOs(whichs means White pepole Or anglos),that complains about tokyo mewmew

I like mew mew power and tokyo mew mew,and i hope they make toys,cards,and a gameboy advance game of mew mew power,but i hope stupid spoiled litte BRATS wont like tokyo mew mew,i cant believe like this show and i am only in the only mexican american oh like this show

Mew Mew Power is a horribley mutilated version of the loveable Tokyo Mew Mew. What I don't get is the localization, while just about every person on Mew Mew Power's forems on 4Kids.Tv know that the show's been edited and know at least Ichigo's real name. I'm happy to see that those who watch MMP actually know it's been changed, and just can't get there hands on a subbed version(well, most of them. Those too young to go online probably don't know or care.)

mew mew power is my second favorite show it's the coolest romants and lots of mistic powers.
(did you know i have mistic animal power too, my powers are fuced with the power of a butterfly fairy.)
