Don’t be surprised if the next mannequin you bump into feels rather fleshy. TukaGroup expects Victoria’s Secret to begin incorporating its line of soft-body mannequins in stores over the next 8-10 months. The company developed its SOFTBODY forms for fitting products like lingerie and swimwear by duplicating bodies of the hottest fit models in the US. Its SOFTBREASTED TUKAform was created in collaboration with Victoria's Secret and others to work as an in-store education tool on good-fitting bras. It bulges and squeezes in all the right (or rather wrong) places. Once upon a time, very (uh) “hands-on” saleswomen used to help with the process, but in recent decades women have been left on their own.
Apparently, women in Australia have been driven to insanity by this. They have a tradition of depositing bras on a stretch of fence on the road to Cardrona. When people started to put other items of underwear on the fence they were removed by bra purists. (photo source: Chris Cole on Flickr.com)
