Jasmine Takanikos came in this week and shared some of her work with the students. She is also working with us to critique an upcoming field research assignment. The students will be going into neighborhoods in New York City and sourcing products that demonstrate a specific trend theme. They will be taking in the visual language of the neighborhood and the retail stores as well as defining a persona that represents the human and cultural context of the trend theme. The result will be boards that capture all the elements we need to understand that trend theme. Much like mapping out a film - from the scenery to the props that drive the story and the human players that bring that story to life. I will be sharing the work in early March online. I hope folks will take a look and offer feedback then.
